    Default Crystal gem eyes?

    Crystal Eyes

Does anyone think that these little crystals in these rings will work for eyes?

Not sure how you would hold em on, but if there's a will, theres a way! I have actually seen some lures for sale that use those rings for beads. They sell em here.

Wal Mart Fabric Department sells ribbon, some of which is a double plastic string of rhinestones...little plastic eyes of sorts....just pop them out and use super glue to hold them on.....sand the jighead flat where you want to glue...they come in a variety of colors and reflect light well....might even work with the flat jewel side in with the pointed bottom facing out. I've glued a few to flat jighead surfaces with no problems. Epoxy, as suggested by Decoy Carver, would probably work much better, being thicker to begin with.

If you use epoxy on the head and eyes they will stay on and I see no reason why they wouldn't work. However I do think it will be better on Flies than jigs??

I use epoxy for the eyes on my streamers, and I paint eyes on my jigs

Jewel ring lures remind me of Manila taxis.

But, if you really need to bead up some heads, the Do-it Teardrop head has depressions for beady eyes. The pic shows a 1/4 oz. #1 heavy hook, but a thin wire mold down to 1/16 oz. is available. The eye slot could probably be enlarged a bit in soft lead for a jewel. Glued in eyes will pop out unless sealed with an overcoat of clear.

Well I was more asking because I want to bands to make spinners and getting 500 of them would give me 100 to tear apart for 600 eyes in different colors. As for putting them on, why not silicone or Gorilla Glue? Epoxy will work too but I hate having to so many at once just to not waste the epoxy. I just know that if I am gonna start putting eyes on these things I need to do something, I may be youngish still but my hands shakes like a 65 year olds. I can't paint on eyes for the life of me. All I have managed to make look good is a dot with a pinpoint in the middle.

The ring is 6mm, not the gems. I estimate that the gems will only be 1.25-1.5mm. The ones I have on my wedding ring spinners are just under 1.5mm and that is an 8mm ring.
