    Default Tying Supplies!

Do any of you guys know if Gander Mountain stores have tying supplies? I have one in my area that just opened up and it is about 1 1/2 hours drive.

Yes most Gander mountain stores have incluede in the layout of there stores a fly tying material section with limited quanty or selection.

If you need a place to buy your materials and cover everything there is to offer outside of special orders go to Barlowes Tackle in richardson tx for retail. Wholesale you can go to Wapsi inc, or Hair Dubblin and i have some more.

Our nearest one is Knoxville, TN They have supplies but are expensive, even compared to privately owned local fly shop in Townsend. Compare their prices with Barlow's and other catalogs like Jann's Netcraft.

I've done well with certain materials from the Dollar Tree dollar store....check out their metallic gift bag stuffing. This winter, at the Wal Mart Christmas close out, I did very well with their holographic icicles at 50 cents a pack clearance price. Both are great materials for metallic jigs.
