Mine now has sweet spots that I have to use to hold the hook, around ten years old and used to clamp things a little too tight. :o In my Jan's Netcraft catalog they have some that look to have an adjustable angle (Odyssey Spider Vise - $79.95). That $$ would be about the MAX I could spend without my wife kicking my !!! and changing the locks.
What is the purpose for the 45 degree angle? Just seems an odd angle when just about any fly or jig is sitting horizontal in the water, I like to think of how it will look in the water. My neck probably gets sore mostly from holding my head at a 45 deg to see what it looks like horizontal! lol
