Newbie here on this forum. WOW, great people, great exchange of ideas. Thanks in advance.... I would like to pass along some info for the Diy Fluid Bed...
Ben at TJ's Tackle will sell you the Poly Board disk for your cups.
Filters for 2" cups - $2.75 each
Filters for 3" cups - $4.50 each
Filters for 4" cups - $6.50 each
Or you can just purchase the cups with the polyboard already to go with a cap to cover your Power Paint. I know it's a lil pricey, however, in my opinion it's well worth it....
If you want to stop the Volcano Effect, trash the paper bags,etc... and use the Poly Board Disk.
I'm in the process of tracking down a few suppliers for this Product in a effort to lower cost and make it more affordable for everyone. Please be bear with me in this effort.

Other varibles as you mentioned such as density of paint play a factor... 40 micron Poly Board evenly distributes the air... A large air pump is required... 2600 cc or better and a good quality inline needle valve to make adjustments in differnent densities of paint pretty much elimate the erruptions.
