    Where is the best most reliable place to get gold sickle hooks for making crappie jigs? Been using Eagle claws but the sickles are way better. Thanks. CF

    I get my hooks at Barlows. Don't remember if they have gold sickles.

    well first they are ouch sharp and the way there made you get a better hook up

    I order mine from Barlows, also. Just be prepared....you will have several per batch that will be rejects. Matzuo makes a sharp hook, but quality control is not that sharp.

    Arrg, rejects! With Sickles, I always inspect every hook and repair when possible before starting a pouring session. Otherwise, one twisted eye or point leg can prevent full mold closure and flash a whole pour set. eBays got some:
