When tying off thread on your finished jig do you:
A) TIE OFF THREAD BY HAND?
B) USE WHIP FINISH TOOL?
When I started tying it was A but now it's B (matarelli).
i started with b and went to a lol

Same here, started with A then went to B and will never go back. I have many jigs that I don't even use head cement on and they have rarely unraveled under normal use when I use a whip finisher.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
Mine is A and B cause I tie off using the whip finish knot by hand too.

I started with A, the over the finger loop half hitch...
Then went to A1 for awhile and then to B.
After B, I'm thinking about going back to A1. It quite often slips off the finisher at the bend....I don't do it very well and having a hard time posiitoning the tool correctly. It's also momentarily catching on the jighead and then when free, puts slack on the bend. I suspect the finisher would be quicker than A1, so I'll have to figure it out.
A1 is a piece of 14 lb test mono tied onto the base of the vice. On the other end, the free end, I've tied a loop about an inch or so in length. I've curled the loop a little with my thumnail being drawn across its length. I lay the loop alongside the jig and wrap about 6 wraps, clip the thread with three inches to spare and run the end of thread through the loop and pull the loop out pulling back toward the after end of the jig. I then pull a little on the thread tag to be sure it's tightened under the wraps.
I throw a few half hitches, then whip finish (I do that because sometimes, if I'm in a hurry, I put too much tension on the whip finish and I break the thread!).
Anyway, this is the whip finish tool I prefer:
Cabela's Whip Finisher
It seems to be alot easier for me to use than the other styles, but it's just preference.
I use "A", never had a problem.
