I have had some good luck on my Black Widow which is a Black head, Black & Yellow variegated body and a Black tail. Have also done good using the same body with a Brt. Green head and Chart tail.

Think it would work, but some other colors than Black will work too since most crappie fishing at night are using a light of some kind.

When I use to bass fish at night (I mean a lot too) we never wanted any lights and used Black and Purple soft plastic a lot. Also Black Spinner baits were great, bit I think the light thing does make it possible to use even more colors and some may be better than Black. I have not tried enough to prove anything like that, but why wouldn't it make a big difference? I think maybe I should even try some with a Pumpkin Hackle tail. It is hard to say without the foot work so to say that I think the light will make more colors work and experimenting will show what is what. I want to do that next summer some.

I have been thinking since the shad under the light shine so much maybe a good jig with a silver body in tinsel or crystal chenille may just kill them. Going to try that for sure.

Once the summer gets hot I almost always fish at night and yes it's a great time to fish for crappie.

That crystal and silver sounds good might be the ticket in the light.
