I usually cut off 6-8 strands right at the strap then tape it to the tying table. This way I have the same amount of flash on each jig I'm tying.

I'm new to tying, so this might be no big deal to alot of you. I ordered some crystal flash. I got a zip-lok bag about 2" wide and 10" long with a chicken strap wrapped around the center of the crystal flash. I opened the zip-lok, pulled the chicken strap handle, the flash came out backwards...bending and crimping alot of the strands. A few more times and it looked unuseable.
**THE TIP** Cut a small U shape in the opposite end of the bag. Now just push the flash trough the U. Don't cut the U hole to big, but just big enough to get the flash out. Hope this helps!

I usually just never put it back in the bag and let get all tangled and messed up in the material box...![]()
