Here is a little something that I have been working on that I wanted to get your guys take on. I call it The JW Short Striker Jig Head. The concept came from a good friend of mine that resides in Texas, Mr JW, so it should bear his name..lol. It fills the bill for guys that want a BIG BITE JIG that don't want the big hook length and size. I made it to work in standard size plastics, in 1/16-1/8-1/4 sizes so far, and the hook is a 2/0 size. The total length is less than 1 inch, which is less than a #2 reg. jig hook, and the hook gap is 1/2 inch, which is quit a bit wider than a reg. #2. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JW for a great idea.....Good Fishin'.

Looks awesome Paul !! I think the smaller hook with the wide gap is a winner !!
When I first saw the thread title I thought you had be experimenting with JW's hinged stinger hook ...If you havent seen this prototype you have some more tinkering to do !! Thanks for the new ideas !

I like the looks of it, would like to tie some marabou on them. I think they would great for winter fishing. Are they going to available to purchase?
Those should eliminate some short strikes.

I've always favored a wider hook gap. I like it.![]()
Dadgum it Grouse, you know I'll have to have a 100 of em'! Can you make em' without the collar ? Those will be great for tipping with a minner.
gilby...that's next on the list..lol.
RT...you know that scoundrel too..he is the KING DADDY of the tinker'rs..lol.
we bunch ideas off each other's knoggin's all the time...lol.
RM...I hope to have some available soon. I put a few on ebay to see how
they would do and so far the response has been good. I don't think
anyone has seen anything like them before in the the smaller size heads.
SS....YOU READ MY MIND..lol. Hopefully, those will be next..lol. They should
be a real LIPPER RIPPER tied...LOL...![]()
Thanks for the kind words Mr. Paul. It may have been my idea, but u made it become reality. They are awesome fish catchers. You should belong to the tinkerer's hall of fame.
