    Default The JW Short Striker

Here is a little something that I have been working on that I wanted to get your guys take on. I call it The JW Short Striker Jig Head. The concept came from a good friend of mine that resides in Texas, Mr JW, so it should bear his name..lol. It fills the bill for guys that want a BIG BITE JIG that don't want the big hook length and size. I made it to work in standard size plastics, in 1/16-1/8-1/4 sizes so far, and the hook is a 2/0 size. The total length is less than 1 inch, which is less than a #2 reg. jig hook, and the hook gap is 1/2 inch, which is quit a bit wider than a reg. #2. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JW for a great idea.....Good Fishin'.

Looks awesome Paul !! I think the smaller hook with the wide gap is a winner !!

When I first saw the thread title I thought you had be experimenting with JW's hinged stinger hook ...If you havent seen this prototype you have some more tinkering to do !! Thanks for the new ideas !

Those should eliminate some short strikes.

I've always favored a wider hook gap. I like it.

Thanks for the kind words Mr. Paul. It may have been my idea, but u made it become reality. They are awesome fish catchers. You should belong to the tinkerer's hall of fame.
