    Default Squirrel Hair

Hey guys. Squirrel season opens this weekend and I'm heading South for a get together. I just wanted to check here and see if anyone would be interested in some tails if I bring some back. I wasn't sure if anyone uses that type of hair or not, but I'll try to bring back as many as I can and if anyone wants some, let me know. I don't mind mailing it off for you. Just trying to help a fellow fisherman out! :D

I'd love to have a few of them. Shoot me a PM for my mailing address, or contact me through my website, when they are ready. Please put some BORAX and salt on the tails.

Well..I'm in taking a break. We managed 11 today among the group, but I only got my hands on 5-6 tails. I'll split them between you. I've got salt, but will have to find borax.
I'll get back in touch with you guys tomorrow when I get back home.

What kind of squirrels? Red? If they're red I'll take 2 or 3 if you get a few extras next time. Thanks for the offer, BTW.

The gray's make good for dying. Dye'em chaft. and they give you chart and black. Pink gives you pink and black, etc.

I do a lot of squirrel hunting myself, so I don't need any tails.

I just wanted to mention that it is guys like you that make fishing what it is. Just plain goodness toward other people and not expecting anything in return. You're a good guy, LouisianaFishNut. I hope you experience some of the same generosity that you have shown other people.

Thanks for the kind words BC! I've had some people provide me a lot of help along the way, so I'd say I'm ahead of the game right now...

Guys, I made it home yesterday, but was scrambling to help my wife with the Cub Scout popcorn sale going on at Wally World, then getting dinner and the kids in bed...I just put the tails in the fridge for now. Tonight is the den meeting so I'll be tied up, but I may be able to at least salt them tonight. I still don't have any borax yet. Looks like 3 people asked for some, so I'm hoping I have six. seems there were either 5 or 6. The rest they had already cleaned and thrown in the canal. Anyway, I'll split them up best I can for you guys when I get the other addresses.

i've used squirrel tail for a very long time on some of my jigs.... for me it's the action in the water and the results on the end of my line...

Here's a tip.... go to the store and get one of those cheap fish bowls and fill it up... get you one of those quick clips and tie on some line to it... when you're done tying your jig, clip it onto the quick clip and put it down in the fish bowl... now you're seeing what that jig is doing underwater.... compare jigs with deer hair, bucktail or squirrel and you'll soon find the one that you like....

For more it's squirrel, then fox, then deer, then buck... but those are just my preferences...

    Tie On Y'all!
