all of these have terrible smells does this not efect the fish.i tyied up some jigs and took them to show my dad and the first thing he said was they look like they will catch some fish but whats that smell

I doubt it. I can't smell it after they dry. You don't need but a drop, and I don't think I've ever used a super glue that smells. If you want to use them without cement, just whip finish it 3 or 4 turns twice at the same spot and tighten it really good.

Agreed.

One or two drops after a few days has zero smell. Even in the water what little remains will dissipate very quickly. I would rather have a jig hold up well by adding one or two drops than to have one that is crap after just a few casts because it is falling apart.

On a normal jig all I use is lacquer thinned and the smell is gone soon after as far as I can tell. I hardly ever use any super glue on a jig. Don't see the need for it.

I have heard of people spraying WD-40 on thier jigs when they fish. That stuff has a smell so I don't know if it would effect the fish.

Yeah but WD40 is illegal to use as an attractant. Anyhow I use component systems lure and jig finish to give my thread body a nice sheen so as to reflect light and add a bit of flash to it. Also i use liquid nails rhino ultra glue. It has no smell what so ever. As far as the jig head finish the smell is gone as it dries.
