Occasionally I'll put three strands on my marabou crappie jig just for an accent color. That's about it. I fish crappie and Bream. To me that is Marabou and crystal flash. Chenille is used on my crappie lures because I like the "Body" look it gives to the profile.Quote:

I have some with buck tails up to 1 oz. And they hold up great.
Skip that jig would sure be good to tie above a standard jig. Allow that one to float around while the other one holds it down.

I have been thinking the same thing. I tried to place it where I had been catching some crappie off my bank and the wind was blowing, but not all that bad and it was just almost impossible.Quote:

I also use several synthetics that are very nice. I have some craft fur that goes from black to silver that is really good on crappie. Got that pattern from the guide Mark Robinson and he as right, it's good!
Sometimes I will even make a tail out of crystal flash by it self or some other kind of flash. I don't limit my self to anything and am open to try tying with most any material. I have some disco yarn for example (lots of it) that makes a really good looking jig in the water.
