    Default Never tried blue...

What am I missing here guys. I'm not sure why, but Ive never tied a blue jig or used blue paint for heads. Thinking about picking up some blue marabou or kiptail and chenelle *spell check* and giving it a go. I have used some blue and white tubes in the past, but I rarely use rubber anymore unless it's a black flicktail.

We use variants of blue pretty often. Our old standby is pink & white though.

    Default Blue

I have tied some blue ones and varities of blue to try on Jordan and high Rock. I even tied what i call the baby jig, blue and pink, just to incorperate the two colors just for giggles. But i will fish it for sure, one never knows.

Blue and green chartreuse is a good combo for me. I tie it in both kiptails and chenille jigs.
    Here's one...

Thats a good lookinf jig smooth. I bought some white, char. yellow, and neon blue kiptail. I LOVE that stuff so far. Ties great and makes a great looking jig. Tied some white head, red thread, and char. yellow tail, pop-eye style looking jigs like yours in the above pic; yellow head, red thread, white tail same style; and some white head, silver sparkle chenille, neon blue body as well that I have high hopes for. I really didn't know what combos to go with with blue but I think the one I tied, the one you have above, and maybe one like I did with a black head would be great. I only use about a half as much kiptail as you though. I'll see if I can whip up some similar to your's and see how they do. Blue is purely experimental with me at this point, my other colors I know produce.

Blue and white anything is real big down here in La. Most people use tube jigs with blue head and white tails. Fishing mostly clear waters. I've bought my marabou jigs in the past but now I'm tying my own. White belly with light blue back on an orange head. I've also tied some with bucktail. I been sick all winter but will be giving them a try soon. They haven't hit the banks yet.

All I can tell you is blue is a very good color and not just the light Blue as the dark blue is also very good.

I have 2 color combo's I use all the time and some guides I know have been converted to my colors as well. Here they are...
    Silver/FL. Yellow/Silver Doctor Blue
    Silver/Light Blue/White

Both are excellent with a hackle tail.
