Just caught my first big old crappie in shallow water this year
Was down by my boat house throwing a 1/8 oz. black marabou with worm tail & a #1 Sickle hook trying to entice a bass for fun and wham, that big old crappie hit and I could lifted him up to me. He was almost too big to lift at about 16". I call that jig the "Black Mamba" and tie it mostly for bass in the spring.
Goes to show they will hit a pretty big bait.
