    Default Turkey day ties

While the turkey and ham was getting smoked on the grill I had some time so tied up some shiny jigs with nickel plated heads in #4 and some painted heads with #4 hooks as well. The glow wedge tails have been producing pretty good numbers of crappie and trout have been hammering them too. Had been using these with a #6 but lost several nice fish with them so went with a bigger hook. Need more glow tails. Iadd a few stands of flash to the tail when I tie these. Name: IMG_6604.jpg

Many years ago I purchased a bunch of Orvis capes off ebay for around $5 on average per neck. Really nice colors with multiple sized feathers. I used chartreuse badger neck to make those pink and chartreuse jigs pop. Key to making jigs like this is quality materials.

Once again, great looking work. I’ve sat at the Bench a few times lately. Too much in the head to really enjoy it but it’s a start.
