There’s a couple of things that come to mind or already said but what comes to mind for me is reverse tying with the fluff forward and tight. Once in the water it would have super action and a bigger profile. Just a thought.

Now that's interesting, as well as the tapping the quill flat with a hammer. Two techniques I had never heard of, nor thought of. Think I'll give it a go sometime. Gonna write it down in one of my jig recipe books so I don't forget it. Thanks guys.Quote:

Maybe he tied the marabou on with the quills at the neck and the marabou facing off the head and then folded the feathers to the back or the hook? However I don’t have any idea how you would then keep the marabou folded back over the hook?
I am not sure showing the thread really matters, but I use red thread and think of it like gills.

I think it's some type of palmering technique with marabou. I will add a few videos here you can check out if you like. Even if what he was doing was not palmering, it sounds as if the end result could be achieved by using the palmering technique with marabou. Hope the videos help.
