Default I have a couple of 3D eye questions

And I am sure y’all can answer them , where does everyone get those 3d eyes that are slit shaped? And can you put a raised 3d eye on a round jig?

    Thanks!

They don’t stick very good to regular ball head jigs but you can flatten the sides some and they will. Either squish or squeeze or even tap with hammer to more of a pill head shape then apply the eyes. I would still apply another form of glue or coating over them, the sticker back doesn’t always stick very good. Not sure about slit eyes but I buy my eyes bulk from Lifefly-Outdoors on ebay.

The eyes with slits are called 3D reptile eyes and can be found on EBay and other online sources. You will need to flatten a round head jig if you want to glue eyes to them because you need a flat surface to adhere him. I used Sally Hanson hard as nails polish to attach me eyes. Super Glue also works great on them.

I use a touch of krazy glue to apply the eye first,,, then attempt to flatten it as the glue spreads without it ozzing out and sticking to everything, once it’s on though, and flat , I quickly hit it with the UV Bonedry and allow it to dry only 12 seconds under that light, no more because it’s a chemical reaction type of resin,,,Not a typical glue,,,once it’s dry,,,it’s like the eye was incased in glass

Thanks. Do you put the Sally over the top or under the eyes?

I've used super glue to stick the eye down and then coat over the eye and jig with Sally Hanson. Beware thought the Sally will discolor some color jig heads. I know yellow or chartreuse being one that it darkens some.

Ive got to where now I'll dip pink, orange, yellow, chartreuse, and white in clear powder and cure. It cuts down greatly on the discoloration.

All the reptile eyes I have used the pupil will pop off after so many catches. Need to clear coat over eye with something.

Example of what I’m talking about. All that’s left is paper backing.

I've got a sheet of pearl 5mm from WW (I bought a pack of 5mm just to try in addition to the bulk ebay eyes Ive got) that do that bad when trying to peel from the plastic. Most of them are perfect but that one sheet for some reason peels terribly.
