If your area has an annual fly fishing show it's worth going

Even if you don't fly fish it's fun to look at new materials and tools, and there's usually a booth or two from local shops clearing out excess inventory so you can get some good deals. The Boise fly show was this weekend and I got 10 calf tails at $2, a dozen 200 yard spools of flat waxed nylon at $1 and three full neck hackle capes at $9 plus a bunch of random rabbit patches at $0.50. Even with the $10 door charge I saved a bunch. Probably could have done even better if I had been there at opening.
