I was just thinking how mop jigs would probably be good for panfish. I know the ends are burnt to prevent the chenille from unraveling. Would it be possible to instead double it over and tie down the end instead? I haven't actually had my hands on this particular material.
I just use a dot of super glue and roll the end to a small taper.
This particular mop chenille doesn't unravel. It's really fat and dense so it would be pretty bulky tied in like that. You could do that with other types of small chenille though. There's a fly pattern with a loop of chenille at the tail called the green weenie that is supposed to imitate an inchworm.
