This thread is a try to get the Bleederz jig posts together and summarized.

If this is more info than people want and/or cluttering up the board, let me know.

Since I'm not an expert, this is intended to simply summarize my thoughts about this particular style of jig and it's intended use.
The work is rough, like me, but is actually what is believed to be attractive to crappie.
Bottom line: The jigs look good enough for fishing and so far the fish have have confirmed their attractiveness.

Hopefully, the jigs being tied, along with more details, will be useful to someone.
Keep in mind that these thoughts apply to a particular lake and way of fishing but should be somewhat universal.

So, here goes.

Scenario for Use

At around 3" in length, 3 1/2" with tail feathers, these jigs are intended for good fish and not for catching a mess of fryers. Good begins at 13" and big starts at 15". This class of fish varies a lot depending on the lake. What's big for one lake may not measure up on others.

Use these on the days when the only goal is to catch a fish and enjoy, days when one good fish satisfies.
Relaxing days, consisting of moving slowing between spots/waypoints looking for the day maker fish for a good memory, maybe a picture or 2, and a quick release to live for another day. This also provides a good time to look for new spots while leisurely cruising the lake.

Fishing the Jig

Pitch the jig beyond the fish and cover and let it pendulum back and streak back high in the water.
Gradually work lower in the water while still doing the P&P retrieve.
Sonar would be ideal for this but the old count down method should work too.
If no action on the P&P, move to a position more over the top of the spot and begin to work the jig into the cover deeper and deeper. Work the spot until satisfied that it ain't happening. Make sure to work all the way to the bottom, dodging limbs and snags as you go, due to the fact that some of the biggun's will lay low. Biggun's could be anything down that so be ready for a surprise on occasion.
