Unique is right, I don't even know what it will look like!
Still looking and making the wraps though.
Adding the red at the back would be a nice touch. Could start with red thread for the base and tie it off after making the rear 'collar' or ring. Then switch to black thread for the rest of the body and to tie the hair.
I've tried a few 'standalone' thread rings that are tied over the primary thread body. Some have came out pretty good, the whip finish at the end of the ring is the critical part to get right. It needs to be crisp with a neat edge to look good.
Not quite there yet but it works out okay at times. May try another with that feature.
This is where it gets more like fly tying!
Black Base, glue, flash, glue, tie white hair, glue, add red hair, glue, finish black collar, whip, glue, add red ring at rear of black thread, whip, finish glue over all thread, and now, UV glue to make it purty.
Well, that's what I'm trying to do these days, go slow a piece at a time, like a fly.
It's enjoyable.
Besides, I'm about out of jig storage. :kewl

not being critical, just going to offer what i would do on the first jig...I would use a red thread collar. As mentioned previously, it would simulate gills and it would make the red in the tail pop. Just a suggestion...but, I like the color combo overall.

The first jig caught a fish today otherwise it was pretty slow. Ended up with 15 maybe or seven nice keepers I let go.

I like it! A small piece of red buck tail on the outside next to the red thread would really set it off.
