A few weeks back I got a private message from “Gobbler” asking me what colors I liked. Package arrived…..check these out.

Looks like ET’s fingers.” Elliot…….bite me up there Elliott.”
I cannot wait to get these alongside the boat so I can see them swimming. He sent a nice supply, too. Most are the three finger curly tail but in the package you can see his paddle tail. He sent along some jig heads and they are of a fine quality as well.
I showed them to my bride and she asked if one of my crappie friends sent them to me. I said yes and his name is Gobbler.
The split tail baits are of a better quality than BG Stroll’rs. The tails are well attached and there is a taper there that will serve to enhance the swimming action. Here is the taper.

The colors are very bright.

I will definitely be ordering me some of his Crappie Catchers in the future.
The grub bodies look to be about an inch long and the tails about an inch when folded, 2 inches extended. The diameter of the grub is about the size of a 1/16th ounce FreeStyle jig head. I am impressed with the quality. Pulling at the tails yields and nice amount of tension, so his plastic mixture is good.
Anyways I wanted to share the story of his generosity with you guys.
Good looking colors on those jigs
Good looking baits. Very close to what I use.

3/16th ounce with 3/0 Victory sickle hook and a four inch curly white grub. Todd Huckabee suggests that the 2/0 size is better than those smaller sizes specifically because it tends to strike and set in the roof of the mouth …….vs …..those flimsy paper thin parts of the mouth.
What do you think
I completely agree with Todd's theory. I use 2/0 hooks on 1/4 and 3/8 jig heads 90 percent of the time with 3" and 4" baits. Almost all my fish are hooked deep in the upper mouth and have to use pliers to get them out.
There fore I sling instead of netting crappie. 20# high vis braid is the rope of choice also. [emoji4]

I also bend the hook out slightly to get a better hook set
