Thank you Skeetbum and GrumpyLoomis.
GrumpyLoomis, Momma liked the name and laughed...
Skeetbum, I'm not sandbagging nuttin', lol. I been watching lots of videos in spare time. And now being slowed down doing other things on this remodeling of this mobile/ manufactured home, I have more time to play at the vise. I did step way out of my comfort zone on this one. I watched a couple different videos and wound up combining them without realizing it at the time. But did learn I need to spend more time learning how to dub, especially hair...Thats what I really need to get right so I can get this jig done the way I want it.
Just couldn't leave it alone. I went back and found the video that got me started on this, it's actually a fly tying video by Peter Collin, and wrote everything down. Their are some materials I don't have and will need to get. However, that didn't stop me and I used materials I had. The tails not their yet as I didn't have anything I wanted to use and can tie it in at a later time. Here are two I came up with...The first ones (5) pic.'s are the second tie before watching the video again. The rest are after...I spent the better part of the week-end tying, undoing, and retying these two. Still not quite where I want, but getting their. Need to get some swiss straw and some pheasant feathers, tail and breast and he used spanoflex (?) Floss for segmenting the body, where I used wire...but I don't think the fish will care...Attachment 404739Attachment 404740Attachment 404741Attachment 404742Attachment 404743Attachment 404744Attachment 404745Attachment 404746Attachment 404747Attachment 404748Attachment 404749

Thank you Chuck, but it just takes some time a bit of confidence, and a whole lot of patience. Oh yea, walking away and coming back...lol...
That walking away helps me often. Those are gonna get bit, no doubt.
When I started fooling with dubbing, I used some of the shed hair from my dog. Plenty of it around. Cut it up small and try it, you’ll be surprised. I’ve seen a lot of it done with rabbit fur but I’m allergic to that and cats fur. I saw a floating Predator bug tied with crystal dubbing and that stuff has potential.
All looks good and like you should kill the Bluegills with them!
