Skip, you are correct. On a jig the may fly would have to orient that way. On a dry fly hook it would go on the other side. When the fish are feeding on may fly hatches I doubt it matters how it is orientated unless it is a trout.

I tied three very close to this when I lived in TN and was looking for good gills and crackers. Worked excellent once I started putting it where it belonged and leaving it alone, letting it do the work. Never had a banner day but it exceeded my expectations. I do t do enough dubbing but it isn’t hard and has its applications. Very nice jig and color choice IMHO.
