    How does rabbit zonkers compare to hackle ?

    Is it like Kip tail?

    I'm thinking about trying some is the reason I ask

    Here is a good place to buy your rabbit. I use the magnum strips which are 1/4 wide verses the normal 1/8 wide strips. Makes a little easier to tie and more body. I tie mainly on 1/8 oz jig with 1/0 hook. Also use some of the crosscut to palmer on instead of using Chanel. I tie kip tail some times but rabbit is a little easier to me. Rabbit to me is a tough substitute for maribu wher kip is a little stiffer but flows a little better than buck tail.

    Rabbit is so much better than Kip tail or most hair in my opinion! I do like Crosscut much more than Zonkers! I like rapping a cross cut strip all by itself! I do at time use both a Crosscut and a Zonker.

    Unlike some I have some 1/4" wide strips, but just don't use them and prefer the 1/8 wide and sometimes even the new size Micro strips, but just had a sample of them and probably will buy some of their Micro strips as I use a lot of 1/32 in Spring and then in Summer more 1/8 and 1/4 Oz.
