Many that are powder paint are not only closed, they are not cured well if at all. Vinyl doesn't do that though and actually is a little tougher coating that Powder, but it's time consuming since they have to dry for a while!Quote:

I have some close on me during the cure even though I use my trusty tooth pick thing to open after the dip, but some I guess have too much paint and close back up in the cure. For these I use a bodkin that has a thinner needle than most and I heat it and stick it through and wiggle from both sides to open it well and try to clean off any sharp edges from the paint. So I figured out my problem . Before I put my jigs in the oven to cure there pretty close to the color I want. But after baking them @ 350 for 20 min they turn to a bubble gum color. Anything less than 20 min they don't hold up to the drop test and they chip. I've got a thermometer to verify temp. Not sure which route to approach now
I cook all my jig head colors except Pearl at 390 to 400 for 15 minutes! Been doing that for 12 years and still works. Have talked to CSI many times about time and temps for curing. Have posted this many time including in the sticky post. Also have said that the longer you bake them the darker it gets!Quote:
