    Default Powder paint question

Hey, I just got some different colors of powder paint. I know you heat the jigs head to melt it on. But I also got a glow top coat? How do you use this? How do you get the jigs hot enough for it to melt without messing up the color?

    Thanks

I heat mine up, dip in color then right into glo. If you do have to reheat I just pass it over heat at a distance just enough to get it to pickup the glo.

Make sure the paint is well fluffed if not using a fluid bed. On two color or type options I use 2 fluid beds. And yes dip in one and then right into the second one! Not really familiar with the Glow top coat though?

I do a ton of playing around for my business and I did some testing on the glow top coat last spring when making some test colors for this years sales. I did not care for the glow top coat that much. Although it looks like it would be a clear coat that goes on overtop of the original coat, it actually creates a milky finish. What I "hoped" would be a bait that had it's normal color (say blue) and then glow as needed. What I ended up with was a vomit jig that really didn't look like anything. And the glow... was for the most part green!

It does work okay if you mix it directly with another color though. I much prefer glow colors in the actual color (glow hot pink, glow chartreuse, glow orange, etc...)
If however you are trying to achieve what I was thinking above, a better option might be to paint your jig in the original color and then go with something like "UV blast" as a top coat. This, in theory, will give you a glow type effect when the jig gets down further than the max amount of light is penetrating.

After over 10 years of keeping this a secret I told last year in a post here. Many tried to figure it out, but none did and many got mad at me because I wouldn't tell, lol! Some people just didn't understand trade secret, lol! Since I don't do a lot any more by choice, I decided to let guys know. Search for my post How to Make My Glow Jigs. It's not the light as I just held these under my table without turning the over head light off! These are so bright when charged well you need to let them wait just a little to take a good picture or they are too bright, lol! These are not for everyone as far as making them as it's not usual at all!

If you don't find it PM me and I will find it for you.
