Default Doll fly (red Rooster style)

Didn't want to jump anyone's thread or tick anyone off, my expertise comes from the Tenn. Side of tying craft hair jigs, i.e. Float n fly and the hoss fly. The latter by the late great Billy Westmoreland. I have a few of his original hoss flies tied by him sent to me from his brother. The hair on them is doll hair, looks to me like what we call polar fiber. I did this just to compare how decades later than the east coast version on a doll fly becomes the hair jigs crappie fisherman use under a cork back in the 40's and 50's and discover the pesky big small mouth liked them too. Some where in all this the originators of these wonderful flies passed them on to us...those who have taken the hobby ( disease ) we call tying and carried the banner of the old masters who tied their own because there were no stores that carried them? Using materials they had around the house. Daughters old dolls, duck feathers and so on. I'm 60 now and I may not be a master but strive to walk in their shoes and their ghosts follow me as I cast a hair jig under a float to see who takes a bite!Name: IMG_1253.jpg

Fatman, that's do it's walleye head, 16th I pinch some of the collar off. I heated the head used a tiny spoon and added a little powder coating on the eye sockets to flush out the dimples for the 3-d eyes heated it again and dipped it in the powder again. That is what I came up with. I knew I could get this one close it's just what I've done for years it's like eating I know what I like, and if I like it I can get it pretty darn close I'll bet you get in the dog house for cutting troll hair
