Have tied jigs like this before and actually have been planning on doing some more a little different. In some ways it's like another jigs I tied that was a take off from a fly I saw. It used the UV Glue and such.
I probably should have stopped at the body different, but no I had to sue Pheasant tails pieces for the tail, lol! wish I had done more with neck hackle and marabou. Mayne one day later on I will. The 2nd pic is one with the Black light on to show as much as I could.
Anyway try what you tied and it may do well and I bet it will!

FYI it's the same jig in both pictures, just the second one was taken using a Black light to show the Florescent look. Also the UV Glue was applied after the Lateral Scale was wrapped over the thread. Then once the glue was in place the hackle was wrapped to the head, then while holding the hackle where it stopped I used the UV light to set the glue, then did the whip finish. This way the hackle stem is embedded inside the glue so a fish tooth can't cut the stem and ruin the tie.
