Are those feathers or hair? Almost looks like
Arctic Fox or some other fine hair, but then again
since I don't have that kind of experience yet, they
could probably turn out to be feathers!
Regardless, they look terrific......Keep 'Em Comin' - Dave
Dave he just doesn't tie his tails like I do mine. That is more of an older way and just using a couple feather tips where I use one and my little V's which I like better. I also don't have any waste and use the entire feather except the very end of the stem.
Both work and once I came up with doing my tails like I do they have worked very well for the guys fishing them. It's just a matter of choice as to how you want your tails to look.

Yea, sometimes I'll face the curved feathers toward each other like above, sometimes away to get that v Skip was talking about

Not the same thing. If interested in what I do then you need to watch the little slide show and video I have in the sticky post at the top of the board. Here it is if you wish to look and see what little V's I am talking about. They can not be made using two tips and if I am making a jig with tow colors in the tail I use 2 tips, one of each color and then I add my little V's in also in two colors.

I second Skips statement about the v's. Big difference in the overall appearance of the jig. Nice looking jigs though, the gray will be a big hit.

I want to learn this style as well! I caint see Skips video but saw others. From what I understand, you cut a hackle in like 1/2 inch increments and use each piece for a tail??
