    Default Hackle Firetiger

I thought I would try tying in multiple colors of hackle. This is more of a problem than I imagined with the feathers rolling. I stack the tips, make loose wraps and then they go haywire before finishing the jig.
    Any advice?

Takes a little practice and diligence. Most of the time I can get them like I want all at one time, but some hackle stems just will not cooperate so I will tie on the bottom one and the come on top with the other color. I also mix the V's with both tips as I tie each on of I did them separate. Still I think mostly that is just eye appeal because when they get in the water I am not sure it matters. Now I do t like it at all when they give me fits, but I still insist the tail looks good enough to make me happy!

There is a feel to making the hackle behave.

You may not have wanted the jig in the last pic to come out like it did but it will have a pulsating action that I really like. You're well on the way to being very good at this.
