Default Crappie Say No To Gnats

I had been having very good success spider rigging with gnats. While using a gnat and a plain hook on double minnow rigs success was equal. Tuesday, we went to a different arm of the lake and I never caught a fish on a gnat while plain hooks were still successful. Meanwhile, my fishing partner was kicking my tail while using two plain hooks. Yesterday I went back to the other arm and back to 50/50 gnats to plain hooks.

Is it typical that there are times that fish don't want any added enhancements to their meal?

Moderators, this may need to be moved to main forum. I wasn't sure which area was appropriate.

I fish jigs on bottom and Gnats on top with minnows 90% of the time. But yes there are times they will not touch anything but a plain hook and minnow. I have got to the point of rigging at least one pole with plain hooks and minnows just in case.

You can have it on either board you wish! If you want it on the main board just PM me and I will move it, no problem, but if you want it here on the jog board that is fine also as it has to do with tying the Gnats!Skip

I fished four rods . Always had double rigs with gnats on the bottom of two and tops of other two poles . The others were plain or with a red bead put on just above the bare hook . Using the stainless clips allow you to switch to any combo if fish prefer one over the other .
