    Default Eagle Claw 635

I recently bought some midget molds really cheap. A few of them call for Eagle Claw 635. What other brands will match up to the 635? I am replacing the 570 hooks with the sickle hooks. I'm not a big fan of Eagle Claw but I will use them from time to time. I want to know my other options. Also the cheapest prices I have found are Barlow's Tackle.....Anyone know of a cheaper place?

    Thanks
    Derek

The 635 is a heavy wire hook, and that hook is cad/tin plated for saltwater use, if you check for the EC 630 it's a heavy wire hook but freshwater. These hooks aren't normally used for crappie., if you pour a lite wire hook in that mold get ready for some to come down the shank and out the bottom. Eagle Claw is actually getting better with their hooks, especially with the new sickle style.

Shop around for hook prices to get the cheapest but I buy a lot of hooks from Capt hooks Captain Hook's Discount Warehouse

Another hook is the Mustad 32833

The Owner jig hook line is top notch...best jig hook money can buy. 5318s for crappie, 5316 and 5313 for a little heavier, and 5319 for big game. Don't bother looking up prices if you're cheap.

The EC 635 are fine hooks. 630 is the bronze version. There's also a comparable Mustad version as well as VMC for saltwater.

Thanks, Yeah I am using Matzuo sickle hooks for my 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 crappie jigs the mold calls for 570/575. I am using the 635 for my striper jigs and few other of my larger molds.
