    Default Curing and Dying Bucktails

I know there was just a thread about this but I had some more questions. I have a bag full of bucktails I've been saving, I've got them thawing then I was planning on splitting them, pulling the bone out, scrape and flesh and fat off, washing it in Dawn, then tack it on a old piece of plywood and cover with Borax for a week or more. At what point would I dye them? Before or after curing? Also need suggestions on some green chartreuse dye and a nice pink.
    Thanks guys.

I've never tried dyeing them YET!! but I would think it would be better to cure them first. I'd want that fleshy piece cured up before putting them in dye. If you go to the link in the other thread about dye and click on the one for Veniards it has a color chart for it, and they have a pink but they also have a Fl. Pink which I'm waiting on right now.

Post pictures! It'll take me a week or so to dry them I'm guessing.

Still waiting for the order to come in. Hope it doesn't go to back order as they only order it twice a year

If so my research has a lot of people recommending Jacquard dye as the best for bucktails.

I just dyed some with 6 packs of lemon-lime Koolaid and a quart of white vinega. Left tails in for 36 hrs came out pretty good. My tails were striped and dried before I dyed em. Herd ritt dye was good too but I was told for a good chartreuse to use kool-aid

I took some out of the freezer and boraxed. I am now just looking for time to do the dye. I am following the info from FM on his other post
