Okay here is what I did...found one of the packs of regular hackle and a part of a pound I bought of chart hackle that has some of the longer type stuff which is why I use salt water hackle if they make in in the colors I want. If need be I buy the regular size like this FL Yellow as I like this shade of FL Yellow and have another shade, but those is my favorite! This pack of FL Yellow regular hackle is 4" long to give you a better idea of what your seeing. This SW Chart is 6" to 6 1/2" long, but I also have plenty of shorter hackle in that pound and lots this long.
Lots of times both are close in length, but regular is 3" to 5" and Salt Water is 4" to 7".

Thank Skip. One more think how many more jigs a guy will get out of SW hackle over regular
Depends on the type tail one ties, if you use a tip on each jig then just one jig, but some extra V's for a different type tail. I just like how mostly they are wider feathers too so you have longer V's too. I just think they make for better looking jigs over all, but lots of time you get some feathers in the regular size jigs that are the longest of that size that are much like the SW hackle. So some of what you get now can classify in both packs because the size overlaps some.
Like the longer "v's" with the saltwater. Also like that length if I want to add a little color under the "chin" of the jig.
Skip where do you buy your saltwater hackle?
I buy mine from Harelne wholesale, but you can find their stuff at lots of places. They have a lot of good stuff too! Check the following places if not able to buy wholesale......as far as I am concerned Hareline has the best feathers for their neck hackle I have ever seen! They also have some good brands for their fly tying hackle, but they don't have near as much of that as some.
this is place probably has more items than anyone and good service too!
Bob Marriott's Fly Fishing Store: Fly Fishing & Tying Gear, Equipment, Travel & Apparel
This one has a good bit of stuff and good service as far as I know.
JS Fly Fishing: Fly Tying, Rod Building and More
i am sure many other shops carry Hareline's items.
i should also link Hareline and here are their SW Hackle....

Fly Fishing Equipment & Gear: Flies, Reels, Hackles, Feathers & More
Only feathers I don't see are the Neck Hackle which a lot of fly shops just don't use of have. They would more likely have some Saddle hackle and probable some Schlappen. Maybe he has strung neck hackle, but a fairly quick look I didn't see it.
Looks like he has some nice stuff though.
