Skip uses one. I watched all his videos. Reallly impressive, especially if you do a lot of tying.

I have been using one for about 8 years now, but there are some thing that are different other than the fact it is a straight jaw type vise. It takes a little getting use to and they even have what they call a pin point jaw that is made to let you have better access to doing tails. Remember all vises are made with fly tying in mind. If you would like you can give me a call and we can talk.
i have evolved into using a somewhat modified version of the set up and actually have most of the accessory jaws they make so I took the counter weight from the large jaw and use it with the regular straight line jow it originally comes with. It's more a personal thing that I do. I could use the fine point jaw if I wanted and have, but I don't like spinning it as much as I do the straight jaw.

I have bad shoulders so the spinning part is very nice for me amd putting my thread base down. Also now that I have probably confused the issue, it's the only way I can describe what set up I use.

PM me if you want and we can talk on the phone of you wish! I do in fact love this vise!
