    Default Fly Tying Station Pics

I'm sure this has been done at some point before. But would like to see what you have. I'm going to build the boys and I some. I'm thinking portable though. Not a desk. Something that can be carried...maybe even folded up, then brought out and setup on the kitchen table. But would love to see everything and anything you guys do!!

Thanks! Right now I have a small cardboard box that I get out when ready to tie. LOL

Try going to goodwill they do have a lot of small tables also try your local junk stores I do not like portable tables they are not stable you need something solid when you are tying jigs just my opinion.

I don't have picture but I found a desk top out of a office cubical, found a set of folding metal picnic table legs at Lowes for 18.95. Took a old end table that had a post light on it, removed light and installed on back of table. Right height and plenty sturdy. Might find a clamp on light to be able to break it down. Like snake said Goodwill, salvation army thrift stores are awesome for finding the stuff you would need. It is 50" by 24" and 1" thick. You also might check HomeDepot or Lowes for damaged counter tops. Sometimes you can get a piece pretty cheap. I don't know what they have in Russelville anymore but know you run down to the Fort once in awhile. Just take your time. You will find something that will work.

I would love that, but we dont' have a place for something like that yet. When we finish the upstairs we will. Then we'll have a permenant dwelling. Right now I'm just wanting something to put on the kitchen table and be able to put back up without it being a HUGE deal. And would love to just see what you guys have.

When I dissolved my home based computer business, my office became a "Catch All" junk room until last December when I took up tying crappie jigs. I still have my laptop, printer etc set up on a desk in the office but except for that space, it is my "Tying Room"! This was taken a month or so ago & I've made a few changes to the storage but the desk is basically the same.

I was in BassPro today and they had this set up on sale for 34.95. It isn't perfect but it is the little brother of what I use.

The safe in the lower right hand corner...Is this where the original Pepop jig designs are?? I'm just kidding. Sweet setup though. Thats what I'd like to have in our up stairs one day. My wife and I have agreed that one day when the kids are older, she and I are going to have a "hobby room". Here scrapbooking, photography, and crafts....and my jig tying, fishing stuff, and R/C trucks. Although we have 3 year old twin girls....soooo...thats a ways away. lol

Looking from the left side this is what I use. It's a regular fold out table that I put the 2"x6" on the side of the table so it would set my vise a little lower than if I had attached it to the top which I did before. Also the t
little table you can see at the bottom of the pic is where I put my feathers that I am tying with. To the other side which is my right side when tying is my computer desk and also has huge drawers that I have some items in, like my Roadrunners and all my blades and split rings.

the little table has some stuff on it in this pic, but usually I just have my feathers on this.
