    ultraviolet products are the rage now. I have tied up flies and jigs with uv polar chenille and uv crystal flash but haven't been able to test them do crappie see the uv better? rich mc

    Think it would be better if the head was painted and then over coated with UV clear. Know UV colors will be seen farther than non UV, but so will Florescent colors be seen better. Being seen doesn't mean a bite, but think being seen helps IMHO! Read up on these things so you learn more about it all. I am not going to write all I have read here in a post so you would be better off just taking time to learn more about all this.

    I have read uv info till my eyes hurt. I am in fact writing an article on it for our clubs newsletter I was looking for any one that has used it successfully . thanks skip, I like the clear idea over the painted head. rich mc

    skip do they make a UV paint and vinyl we do have the powder paint UV clearcoat also we are starting to use a lot of UV feathers.

    Have you had any positive feedback on your trials?
    BC I haven't seen a lick of diff. Mind you Im a river fisherman and if you can see 3" down, THATS CLEAAAAAR. I fish 3-5 days a week, at least an hour every trip or I don't go. If that makes a diff in the equation. I just don't believe in it, might be the problem. Have a lil more luck with glow additives, AT NIGHT. Otherwise, it's useless to me.
    It just becomes an xtra step in the tying process. = less time fishing.
