yup, I thought it was a cool idea. not sure if you could make them small enough for gills and crappies but they would be great for bass or other bigger jigs that chenille is too small for.

You can make them smaller as in less material for smaller type ties. You can also do something similar by splitting your thread and using a magic tool and hackle.

thanks for sharing as I know some of the guys have not seen this kind of stuff.

Ok Skip, I'll bite. As I am new to tying. Just what is this magic tool your referring to? Never heard of one, nor seen one in any of the catalogs I have looked in. Are you referring to what ever one uses to twist the thread around the material being used to make the dubbing brush/ chenille? Thank you ahead of time.

It's a Marc Petitjean product that has some really cool things it can help do. I am sure you will see a video at this link, fut if not just Google Magic Tool and see a link to a YouTube video.

Thank you skip. I went to the link first to see what it was, then Googled it up to see how to use it. Slick as I can, I'll see about getting myself one of those. Sure makes it simple. Great info. Thanks again.

I have both sizes of the magic tool. I really want to use mine more and have collected a bunch of CDC feathers to try. I also have Marc's bodkin that is tiny and for splitting thread.
