Nice! Say what a friend of mine and also myself do is put the hooks in the foam to that when you pick up the big case the jigs weight is pulling the hook in and not getting pulled out. I hope that is clear enough to know what I mean.
also curious as to what material are you using in the bottom of each box? We use the foam like fly tying foam that we get at hobby lobby. They have some that is nice and thick enough, but can't tell what your using and want to know if it's better for some reason.

It's 1/2" and the hook's don't tear it. It's good stuff. The only handle my case has is the "Locking" handle that locks the lid to the case shut. It makes it awkward carrying the big case around. I usually leave it in the cockpit of the boat & just carry a couple of the small boxes up front.

Oh, mine has a double handle and one locks it and the other is just a handle? I didn't know they made a different one.

Does your packing stuff keep the hooks from falling out too?

Yes, I put a few lines of super glue in the bottom of each small box and pressed the "cut to size" foam in till the glue set. The jigs flop side to side a little but I haven't had any come out, loose in the box. I REALLY need to get out a loose a few! I don't want to have to but another one! HA!

Yes you do need to go get your line stretched!

Thanks for the info. I have a ton of the foam I have been using and I use a hot glue gun to glue in my foam. I already had the glue guns and sticks so made sense to me.

I have a few questions for you how do you make the jigs in the picture are you tying the feathers on the hook or pulling them through with a needle and gluing the plastic to the head with like for you to explain how you are making them this would be a good post for plastics I'm sure the guys would enjoy seeing your work you do a fantastic job on them and they do look good I notice that they are look to be like a Grub body that you cut off a plastic bait and made into these little jigs keep up the good work I'm sure that you will find more combinations to make up in the future I do use a mold for shooting my bodies on to the jig heads we do tie the feathers on and place them in the mold and then shoot the plastic.

I put this together just to show how I do this type bait...

First I pick a painted head and wrap a thread base from the head about 1/4"down the shank.

Then I select the plastic I'll use (I prefer Crappie Thunder's because they have bulk & are fairly tuff but about any solid body plastic will do) and cut the tail off.

Thread the body onto the hook and apply a tiny drop of super glue to the thread base and push the plastic against the jighead.

Clamp hook in vise and with forceps, push body towards the jighead and clamp it.

Wrap a thread base to the hook bend and tie in flash (I use 1 strand, doubled twice making 4 strands).


Pull & stack hackle barbules for tail and tie in, tie 2 half-hitches and cut thread.

Apply a tiny drop of super glue to thread just below clamp.

Remove clamp and pinch & twist body to push plastic over thread/glue. Cut flash to desired length
