I ordered a jig tying kit from Bass Pro this morning, along with an assortment of powder paints, additional marabou, Chenille, thread, and buck tails in a variety of colors.
When I was still in high school -- 20 years ago -- I used to tie trout flies with my dad so I'm not a complete novice but its been a long, long, while!
I'm gonna need lots of helpful advice this summer as me and my boys try to learn to tie our own.
Well good for you! Good luck and when you need help just ask and someone or many will help out!
Tony, I just started back at Christmas time after 40 years so you'll do fine. One thing though, you better hide your wallet, debit card & credit card!
Good times are about to start! Agree with Pepop .......hide the credit cards!
Awesome to hear you are getting back into the art of tying and also that your sons will be learning how to tie jigs. Good luck and hope to see some of your work soon.

Tony, I've found that you can't go wrong tying and getting the kids involved. If you need any buck tails, let me know. Like plateboater said, "hide the cards"!![]()
"Another day on the water..."
finally, somebody else around Bay ar, that ties jigs!!! Tony I live up the road from you in bay
Listen to Pepop he KNOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
Thanks everyone for the encouragement.
I've already discovered the propensity to over spend. The kit I bought only cost $79.99. I decided to add a "few" things to it that I figured I would need. By the time I was finished the total was closer to $200.
I'm looking forward to getting the materials in later this week and getting started tying a few. My boys are pumped about it!
Yellowjacket -- We will have to get together some time we are practically neighbors!
