    Default 1/16 marabou 2 Roadrunners

I have not posted much or even been on my computer and have been using my iPad because I really hurt my back bad. However this week I just got in my RR heads in 1/32 and 1/16 Marabou 2 heads with willow imprinted blades. Heck I didn't realize they imprinted these willow blades, but they do. I will also get some of their eyes that they use on them, but had some I could sub for them ones they use and their are more flat so maybe better?? Not so sure about that.

Also these 1/16 Marabou 2 heads come with collar and barb which I didn't realize so on the one in this pic I cut that off, but also will try them without cutting that off and it may be fine like that. I am also thinking about how they may do if I was to make up some to go for soft plastics and wondering what you guys may think? Anyway here is the 1/16 Marabou 2 Roadrunner that I tied today which is the first tying I have been able to do in over a week now.

I see they switched from a crane swivel to a roller type swivel. I've been using an old knife to take the eye bumps off a bunch of my horseheads so I can use 3-D eyes on them, but the ones I have are too big!! Before I got the horsehead mold I used to cut the barb and collar off for tying and it's a pain - but it also makes you tie more careful when it's left on as you have to make sure the thread doesn't slide off the collar.

I have some official heads with willow leaf blades I bought 5 to 10 years ago and they are not imprinted. They must have switched to imprinting the blades when they started cracking down on people selling the lookalikes so they could identify their own product.
    Don't worry, catch crappie.

You know that particular pony of yours is one of my favorites Skip! I've tied a few that are similar but I just haven't been able to duplicate it.

The imprinted blade is a cool new twist. The tie looks good to me, as does the color choices. Sorry to hear of your back issues, they 're never fun. My back is a great barometer. Feel better soon. Just started a new job, old one is a long ugly story with little money involved, so now that the spawn is about to kick at my place I have to keep the wheels turning and make dollars. I'm Thankful that I have a better job to work, just one of those bittersweet things. Hope you're back up and running again soon.....Tim

Thanks guys! This is the color combo that my neighbor and I caught the heck out of crappie from Superbowl Sunday until not long ago. Probably between him and my self 500 or more crappie. He sent or gave a lot of them to his family and such though. I will post a few more pics of fish soon.

Yeah I am not sure which of several things I did that made my back get so bad, but for like 5 days I didn't tie anything, I didn't even come in here to my computer. I was checking in every once in a while using my iPad, but that pain was about as bad as I ever had and I had major back surgery in 1989 where they cut me 10 1/2" long, fused everything and put in plates and screws. Now that was probably worse due to how long it lasted because I didn't think I would ever even fish again for 4 years, but finally it felt like I could. The steroids the ER gave me are starting to work better and better so think I am about ready to start tying regular again.

    Thanks again,
