    im having a problem with painting soldered jigs any help?

    kdog, I used to make some soldered willow spoons etc, and you must clean the flux residue off the jig that was left after soldering, I have also made tiny solder headed fly hooks, same deal, ya gotta clean them. I used an old toothbrush and various solvents. also if you don't get all the flux off of the head it will rust the heck out of the hook after a while.

    What they said. I used alcohol when I soldered circuit boards but other solvents will work. Careful not to soak the bronze finish off.

    Use acetone and a cotton ball. Works perfect, Vinyl an powder paint will work. Be careful if using powder paint to not warm the jig up so much it weakens the soldier

    get you some fine sand paper clean them up the flux has to be cleand off thats how i do mine
