    Default Chicken Pony

I just tied this. It should catch something. When I painted the head I didn't know to remove the foil from the swivel and scrape paint off before curing the paint. - DUH!!! At least it works as it should.

Forgive the first two pics, they looked okay on my computer, but uploaded as you see them. I wanted to remove them from the post but was unable to do so. They are the same image, just rotated oddly. I don't know what happened to do that.

Color looks good. What size head, hook and blade?
Some may say it's a bit to long. 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the curve of the hook.

Sorry not to include that info. 1/16 oz. head with size 4 hook, size 0 blade and Arctic fox hair.

Until recently I thought that it might be too long also, but a man whose opinion I rate very highly suggested that longer tail should work just fine. It's probably just coincidental, but so far the fish I've caught on jigs with longer tails seem to be larger than the rest. As long as the longer tail catches fish I'll keep tying them that way.

Looks good. Here's some things I've done through years of pouring, painting and tying RR type jigs....I just grab the jig by the eye, heat, and dip. You will get some paint on the swivel, but a quick twist or two (be sure to do it before curing) and the swivel will work fine 95% of the time. I use a pair of needle nose pliers, off of the grooved part there is an area of smooth surface on the pliers, when I pour the heads....I mash the eyes flat while the lead is still hot, using the smooth part of the pliers. Then it will accept a 1/4" or even 5/32" flat stick on eye. I used to paint the little pimple heads, but it's easier to flatten then use the stick on eyes for me.
