    Default Peak vise stuck closed

Was tying earlier and after 10 tyes or soo I cant seem to open my jaws to release the jig hook. Not really sure how to go about getting it out. The lever still moves free as it should

I agree with Skip You don't want to force anything. Sounds like it was dry and bound up. I hope the metal didn't gall. You might try a small plastic hammer or screwdriver handle and lightly tap it to see if you could get lucky. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks! I loosened up the nut that holds the jaw and it opened up. Do u guys do any type of upkeep maintenance on your vises as far as oil etc? I have had this peak rotary for about a yr and this is my first time taking it apart.

I dis-assemble mine and notice that the clear grease I use has gotten some color, so I clean and regrease it and re-assemble looking for any wear as i do. A drop of oil allowed to work in is plenty, I use Super Lube, comes in a silver can. The aerosol has a carrier that evaporates after deeper penetration than any other light silicone grease I know of. It's clear so I can keep up on weather or not it's time for a cleaning.
