    Default A swing @ a Bobby Garland (Bluegrass)


    Me and the wife did a road trip to Lake Weiss Ala. today went to Little River marina in Cedar Bluff met one of the new owners of the marina had a chance to discuss hot colors this past year...Bluegrass was the #1...bought some soft plastic's and tried to match..here is my first atempt.Name:  bluegrass 003.jpg

    Nice tying. I like the bluegrass, have done well with it, but never thought about trying to duplicate it with a hand-tied. I like your result!

    I put the bottom color on first at the bottom looping the thread at the head pull the chen. straight back to the marabou put another loop to hold it then put my top color and wrap it as usual then pull the bottom color over the top color in a straight line to the head and whip finish it all and cut it off...that may not be the right way but thats how I figured it out for me! LOL

    Very impressive jig you tied. You have exposed youself as a threat to the commercial market. Ever thought about tryin' to sell any of 'em?
    If I could get that in Watermelon Wine, even I would be interested in purchasin' some.

    Just looked @ Crazy Angler they do have a wine colored marabou...just don't know how close it is...will call them today and try to get the low down...lol...I think I can get real close to this color.

    Wow, Ive fished BGBG ( bobby garland blue grass) since its inception, never saw one tied quite so well. Actually never thought about tying one since they work so well, goog job.
