[SIZE=3]When I complete a batch of jigs, I make protective cases out of the fatter drinking straws. I cut a straw about a quarter inch longer than the finished jig. Then you slit the straw lengthwise stopping about a quarter inch or so from the far end. Now return to the slit end and nip off a couple little triangles at the beginning of the slit, making a V notch. Slide the jig into the cut so the eye of the jig and the hook are above the straw and the eye shank is at the end of the cut. Semi transparent straws work the best as you can make out the color and general details of the jig looking though the semi transparent straw. The cases also work well with hair jigs in keeping the hair trained.
