    Default T.S. Jig

    T.S. JIG

    Hook: #4 Gamakatsu jig hook.
Head: Bullet head - dark green nail polish (to match peacock herl)
Tag: Oval silver tinsel and yellow floss dressed long.
    Tail: Peacock sword herl
Body: Rear 2/3 fluorescent green floss
Rib: Oval silver tinsel over fluorescent green floss
Veiling: Fluorescent green floss over rear half of body
    Body: Front 1/3 peacock herl
Wing: Dyed fluorescent green squirrel tail.
    Collar: Yellow hackle.

This fly is an adaption of the Taylor Special, a salmon fly which was created in 1986 by Arthur Taylor an artist from Lee, Main, USA. The front part of the body was originally made with green wool but later, Bill Taylor substituted peacock for the green wool. Another variation of Arthurs Taylor original dressed used either gray or red squirrel in the wing, peacock herl mid-wing and peacock sword for the tail.
As a trout jig, it would work well in summer when grasshoppers are on the menu.

Nice looking jig!!!!!!! On the original fly i've also seen the veil tied flat right on top of the body but I like it angled up. I know up here in Vermont that ALOT of people use jigs with fly patterns tied on them as they don't want to learn or pay for fly fishing tackle. Regular lightweight jigs and have seen some using fly patterns on floating jig heads behind a casting bobber.

Nice tie!!!! something about those old school patterns that I like the look of. Not a lot of Salmon down here in Texas but think that I could get a few crappie to take that one.
