    Default Brown?

Do many of you c.c guys tie brown or brown variation jigs? I occasionally tie a brown jig but don't fish them much-just give them to friends. I mainly tie the hot colors and alot of shad colors. Crappie in this part of the country feed on brown colored crawfish only in the Spring. Therefore, brown is just not a go-to color for me .Just wondering if I was being hard headed or dumb about not fishing brown colored jigs.

I tie a lot more Ginger color jigs than Brown. Hardly ever get calls for Brown, but have it just in case. I don't fish Brown either, not sure why, but will fish it when going after Blue Gills!

There is a time in the early spring that a brown that is Root Beer color is very good. This time last only a couple of weeks but it is great when them start to thump the Root Beer jigs. Root beer to my eye is between brown and ginger. Other wise I never fish brown but those two weeks or so are dynamite.
