I use nail polish, it comes in a large color range including metalic and clear. Using a matchstick head as an applicator, you can also use nail polish to paint eyes on. Clear is very useful for a finishing coat.

Nail polish is also available in 'Glow In The Dark Fluorescent'.

To paint heads I use the cheapest nail polish I can find, usually about $2 a bottle.

The purple head had two coats of purple. Then the eyes, a white base followed by yellow and a black pupil. The whole head is finished with a coat of clear. The black head has two coats of black and a finishing coat of clear.

Nice stuff . I never would have guessed it was nail polish. Looks good.
